About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of our residents. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for developing and leading a volunteer service whose key focus is to meet the interests of our residents by matching them with a volunteer from their local community.
This is a permanent part-time position 3 days per week based at our Wahroonga residential facility.

Duties include:
- Working with multidisciplinary teams to build a volunteer service that compliments the needs of HammondCare residents
- Attracting, recruiting and onboarding volunteers, matching their interests with residents
- Managing, and enhancing volunteer program for residential site
- Managing and mentoring volunteers, supporting them with both online and onsite face-to-face training as well as coordinating social volunteer events
- Maintaining accurate records in our volunteer database (Salesforce) and following established processes and guidelines for Volunteer Services
- Managing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme for residential site
About you:
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
- Demonstrated experience in an Administration/ Coordination position
- Demonstrated experience where relationship building is a prominent component of your role
- Leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with others
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport quickly and work with people at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong influencing skills
- Preferred experience in recruitment particularly of volunteers
- Strong MS Office skills
- Empathic and compassionate
