After Hours Clinical Manager - what's involved in the role?

The role of After-Hours Clinical Manager works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to be carried out by a Registered Nurse to provide remote telephone support for operational and clinical issues to HammondCare At Home consumers and staff. The role also provides back-up support to other departments and portfolios, including Dementia Support Australia, Central office Concierge and Residential Care.

The role operates at all times outside normal business hours, including weeknights, early mornings, and all hours on weekends and Public Holidays.  This role features a combination of active hours and on-call hours including overnight. Additional hours are available during business hours to support local teams, to be negotiated with successful applicant.

What do you need to apply?

  • Clinical qualification (Registered Nurse Division 1, General) with current registration with AHPRA.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of the Home Care Packages Program, Commonwealth Home Support Program, Home Care Common Standards, and HammondCare At Home Care Worker Enterprise Agreement 2015.
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely, independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work within HammondCare’s Motivation, Mission and Mission in Action.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and problem solve without supervision.
  • Strong organisational abilities, including effective time management and the ability to prioritise.
  • Strong relationship building skills and empathy.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Attitude of service.
  • Must be availble outside normal business hours, including weeknights, early mornings, and all hours on weekends and Public Holidays. 
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
