Clinical Governance Manager, what is involved in the role? 

The role of the Clinical Governance Manager works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to support the delivery of clinical care across HammondCare At Home. 

The Clinical Governance Manager role has a senior clinical governance and quality responsibility across the HammondCare At Home area, as well as a leadership responsibility to provide advanced clinical information and advice, plus guidance on training and clinical support to staff. 

The essence of this role: 

  • Responsibility for clinical policy and process review and development. 

  • Provide clinical leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice and knowledge. 

  • Ensure clinical care is safe, well managed and of the highest quality 

  • Participate in quality safety and risk activities and initiate improvement projects 

 What do you need to apply? 

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action. 

  • A tertiary degree in a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. 

  • Currently hold a relevant post graduate qualification. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in embedding clinical governance practices at organisational or portfolio level, preferably within a home-based aged care setting. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of contemporary nursing practices and theories as applied in a home-based aged care setting.  

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the: 

  • Aged Care Act 

  • Home Care Packages Operational Manual 

  • Aged Care Quality Standards, and 

  • Commonwealth Home Support Programme. 

  • Experience managing a team of skilled professionals. 

  • Experienced in operating effectively in a multi-site environment.  

  • A current driver’s licence and safe driving record. Willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services. 

  • Strong administrative and computer skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Empathy and patience.
