About the role – Dietitian
Looking to be part of a visionary, dynamic and supportive team seeking to make a significant difference in the lives of older people?
HammondCare is forming an exciting new internal Allied Health Care Team to work in Residential Care. Whilst having the autonomy to work with residents to achieve the best care outcomes, you will also be part of a broader team of in-house Allied Health professionals working alongside and supporting frontline teams.
Together you will deliver resident-centred, evidence-based care in an environment that promotes continuous quality improvement consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and Dietitians Australia.
The essence of this role:
- Provision of effective and efficient dietetics service to residents and appropriate support and advice to their representatives and HammondCare staff.
- Participate and contribute assessing residents’ level of nutritional needs, setting nutrition goals and providing advice regarding appropriate intervention.
- Work closely with family of residents, staff members and clinical teams.
- Participate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a person-centred, continuous quality improvement work environment.
- Participate in quality improvement projects and continuing professional development.
About you (Selection Criteria)
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
- A tertiary qualification as a dietitian acceptable to the Dietitian’s Association of Australia
- Maintain Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) (or provisional APD) status
- Practical experience or sound knowledge in Aged Care
- A current driver’s licence and safe driving record, with a willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Empathy and patience
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- An understanding of Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
