Pastoral Care Coordinator

  • Permanent Part Time 4 days per week
  • Located at Miranda Mason – A brand new Frail Aged Care Home

About the Role

Through individualised and group interactions, you will work independently to support the emotional and spiritual needs of residents and their families, sharing your Pastoral expertise to coach staff and volunteers in spiritual care.  You will have significant personal awareness of the impact of losses on the aged, and the impact of working with people with life-limiting illness. You will support the wellbeing of staff.

All new staff will complete an onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer and learn how Pastoral Care fits in the local team’s delivery of relationship-based care to improve quality of life for people in need.

This position is offered on a Permanent Part-time basis working 4 days per week. The role will be based at HammondCare Miranda. You will report to and be supported by an off-site Senior Pastoral Care Coordinator.

Skills and experience

  • An ordained Minister, credentialed Pastoral qualification or recognised theological and pastoral qualifications
  • Prior experience working in an Aged Care setting highly desirable.
  • Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement is essential
  • Highly developed communication skills including listening, compassion and empathy
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
  • A valid Australian Class C Driver’s License, a safe driving record, and your own reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle with willingness to travel between HammondCare sites and services when occasionally required.
