About the role
This permanent part-time 2 days per week (either Monday and Thursday OR Tuesday and Friday) Pharmacy Technician role is responsible for providing pharmacy support by way of dispensing, purchasing and distribution under direction of pharmacist on duty.
Responsibilities:
- Medication Procurement in accordance with Medication Handling in NSW Public Health Facilities 2022
- Maintaining current knowledge of medicines shortages including sourcing S19 & SAS products where appropriate
- Invoice management including preparation of end of month reports
- Maintain current knowledge of NSW Pharmaceutical Contract and NSW Medicines Formulary and assist with implementation at HammondCare
- Perform dispensing duties under the direction of the pharmacist
- Provide administrative support to the Pharmacy Department
Qualifications | Work Experience | Skills and Competencies
Essential
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
- Successful completion of a qualification in a relevant field recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia or up to the level of Certificate III issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital and Community Pharmacy or has qualifications deemed by the employer to be equivalent
- Previous experience with, or an advanced level of knowledge of stock management and imprest systems
- Commitment to continuing education and Quality Service improvement initiatives
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Strong administrative and computer skills
Desirable
- Experience with ipharmacy and eMeds Powerchart
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
