The role

As Clinical Educator you will be an integral member of the HammondCare Learning team, your role will be to design and deliver clinical programs for Registered Nurses. These programs provide nursing team members with evidence-based learning, enabling them to develop the knowledge and skills of a safe and competent clinician working within HammondCare relationship-based Model of Care.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will ensure HammondCare nurses have a strong learning support system that enables them to build knowledge and skills to use what they learn to deliver best practice. Alongside Learning Team colleagues, you will deliver the right training to the right group, to meet and exceed requirements and ensure this is recorded and reported as required.

This exciting opportunity is on a fixed term contract basis until January 2025.

You will support our residential sites in Hammondville, Miranda, Horsley, Darlinghurst and Caulfield in Melbourne.   You will have complete autonomy to plan your own schedule, with the option to WFH one day per week.  Travel is required, therefore you will need a driver's license and access to a car. 

Working with another Clinical Educator you will be responsible for the design and execution of the key programs for nurses in Residential Care including: External programs - New Graduate Nurse Support and Infection Prevention and Control; New Nurse to HammondCare onboarding and Registered Nurse workshops.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising and supporting key stakeholders to implement and embed programs into each identified business unit
  • Providing day-to-day support for the Clinical Managers; Registered Nurses; Educators and Workplace Coaches regarding clinical education
  • Working cooperatively with Learning, Dementia Centre and other portfolio Managers and Team Leaders on a range of projects to ensure a ‘One Team’ approach 
  • Developing flexible, relevant, and interesting education programs and training sessions and assist all learners regardless of level, to achieve their learning goals
  • Ensuring quality development, delivery and evaluation of education programs and responsive training that meet the needs of HammondCare
  • Preparing, conducting and documenting training delivery and assessment procedures, using approved training delivery plans
  • Supporting students to complete their units/courses as per their training plan and course schedules
  • Analysing and reporting on clinical training and learning trends to relevant stakeholders.
  • Evaluating learning activities, reporting on learning outcomes and utilising data to inform planning
  • Utilising the Learning Management System, Power BI dashboard reporting and relevant technology and applications to efficiently manage work.

About You:

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
  • A minimum of five years recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) without restriction
  • Demonstrated successful experience as an either a mentor, teacher or Clinical Supervisor
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • A desire to work with and facilitate the care of older adults across a variety of settings
  • Ability to work in varying locations and shift times to support RNs (Driver’s licence and access to car essential)
  • Exceptional communication skills verbally and written
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to support learners and liaise with stakeholders
  • Empathy, patience and a growth mindset that supports a commitment to lifelong learning
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong MS Office skills and zoom/teams
