The opportunity 

The Maintenance Manager’s role is to maintain and repair all physical aspects of buildings and resources for HammondCare, to manage contractors and ensure the budget is monitored and managed.

This is a permanent  full-time role based at Greenwich Hospital.

Duties include

  • Ensure a safe environment exists for staff, residents, clients, volunteers and visitors.
  • Ensure documentation meets accreditation standards and applicable Australian Standards.
  • Risk assessments are conducted, and safe work method statements are implemented.
  • Emergency maintenance situations are assessed and responded to within agreed SLA.
  • Provide regular activity reports for delivered services and emergencies are provided and recommendations are made for service improvements.

 Contractor Management

  • Maintenance schedules for all contracted tasks are managed, coordinated and monitored effectively.
  • HammondCare guidelines and NSW / Victorian WorkCover guidelines are followed by all contractors.
  • All contractors are effectively inducted onto site and comply with the requirements of HammondCare ‘Contractor Guidelines’.
  • The competence, qualifications, certificates of compliance, fee structure and documentation of all external contractors engaged to work with HammondCare is reviewed and recommendations for change are made as appropriate.
  • Valid contracts/ service agreements are in place and in date with all external contractors prior to works commencing.
  • Liaise with Service Managers when unscheduled works will affect services. 

Maintenance Delivery

  • Contribute to the development of the Preventative Maintenance Program for their facility.
  • The Preventative Maintenance Program is delivered competently and within agreed timeframes.
  • Reactive Maintenance work requests are responded to competently and within agreed timeframes.
  • Documentation of works performed is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Use LogIt to monitor, record, report progress and close work requests when completed.
  • Outstanding issues are reviewed, tasks are handled and completed within agreed time frames.
  • Security and Access Control is maintained at all times, in conjunction with HammondCare security procedures.

Who are you?

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • A trade qualification relevant to a Facilities Maintenance or Construction environment is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Construction or Facilities Maintenance role.
  • A current NSW White card.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex and competing demands, under dynamic time pressures.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying initiative and creative problem-solving on the job.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel and Word). 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment, under minimal supervision.
  • A current driver’s licence and a willingness to travel between HammondCare sites and services.
