About the role
The Digital / UX Design Intern works closely with the digital team to design engaging digital experiences across all digital environments and platforms. This work contributes to the execution of consumer experience and marketing campaigns that help drive outcomes across our residential, home care, healthcare and hospital portfolios.
This role reports into the Digital Manager, and will work closely with the consumer experience team, marketing and communications team and wider organisation to accelerate HammondCare’s goal of shaping the sector and improving the quality of life for people in need.
The Marketing team consists of marketing, communications and digital specialists, plus an in-house studio with design and content creators.
This is a PAID entry level position working three days a week on a one-year contract at our contemporary offices at St Leonards.
This role would suit someone who is a final year uni student – or has recently graduated - studying Design Computing, Interaction Design or similar, or an incumbent who has on-the-job marketing experience or been a previous intern.

Key Responsibilities include
- Assist in developing user experience wireframes, prototypes and design documents, and in translating these designs into conversion-driven websites and marketing emails.
- Work with the consumer experience team to better understand the user, their needs and goals, and improve existing processes and platforms to meet these goals.
- Participate in stakeholder research opportunities, including assisting in conducting surveys and workshops to understand how internal and external audiences use our digital tools.
- Proactively monitor the performance of web pages and suggest improvements based on data.
- Clearly communicate with stakeholders on milestones, status and outcomes of projects.
- Support the digital team’s processes and tasks.
About You
- You’re always thinking about the apps and websites that you use, what makes them great and what you’d do differently.
- You keep the user in mind when designing, always seeking to understand their needs, behaviors, and goals.
- You have some experience with Figma or other wireframing / prototyping tools (or you’re a fast learner).
- You’re an energetic, proactive and collaborative team player
- You’re an analytical, problem-solver with good decision-making skills
- You know how to multi-task and prioritise workload
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- You’re an empathetic and compassionate person who has a heart for Australians in need
