The opportunity 
 
The Head of Reward will provide expertise and leadership in reward and recognition in line with HammondCare’s organisational strategy.  This role requires both transactional and transformational activities, including utilising the Mercer framework (including job sizing and grading), coordination of HammondCare’s annual remuneration review and oversight of HammondCare’s benefits program. 
 
Key Focus Areas
 
• Develop and implement policy, process and systems for reward and evaluation of roles across the organisation
• Manage the annual remuneration review process end-to-end, working with relevant leaders to develop individualised salary recommendations
• Provide insights on workforce analytics, reward and retention
• Ensure a consistent, organisation-wide approach to job sizing and grading
• Manage HammondCare’s salary packaging offerings, including vendor management
 
This role is based in St Leonards, with hybrid working options.

Duties include
 
• Manage HammondCare’s annual remuneration review process, including providing advice and/or recommendations in line with market data and HammondCare’s WGEA/gender obligations
• Remain up to date with market trends and conduct regular benchmarking to ensure remuneration and benefits remain competitive. In consultation with the Employee Relations function, conduct regular analysis of salaried roles underpinned by Modern Awards to ensure HammondCare remains compliant with its industrial obligations
• Manage HammondCare’s Executive Incentive Plan 
• Regularly review and make recommendations in respect of HammondCare’s benefits program
• Contribute to and maintain workforce reports to provide accurate employee data on headcount/FTE and turnover
• Manage HammondCare’s WGEA reporting and gender pay gap analysis 
• Undertake sizing of roles in keeping with the Mercer job sizing methodology and HammondCare’s approved salary grading framework 
• Design, build and maintain reports and interactive dashboards using tools like Power BI and Excel to support self-service for leaders and the People team 
• Support the broader People team with ad-hoc project work to facilitate process transformation and assist with the provision of customised reports, e.g., position management
• Provide advice in respect of salary packaging and not-for-profit charitable organisation benefits 
• In conjunction with the Policy and Strategy team, support the implementation of grant funded incentive payments for HammondCare team members
• Manage HammondCare’s relationship with its salary packaging provider
 
Who are you?
 
• Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
• Minimum of 10 year’s demonstrated experience in the Reward and Recognition space with minimum 5 year’s experience in a Reward Leadership role
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or Commerce
• Demonstrated experience managing, supporting and motivating teams
• Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and concisely
• Significant influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Highly relational with the ability to build rapport quickly 
• Commercially astute professional
• High attention to detail, practical and results oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experienced in major project development and implementation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience using PayScale and Workday and Mercer Grading System (highly desirable) 
• Prior experience in the aged care or health sector, and/or not-for profit experience (desirable)
